State of Mind Review

I usually don’t write reviews and experiences on video games often because I don’t play them to their entirety.  However, I recently received a game on my Nintendo Switch called State of Mind and it was exceptionally well made.

State of Mind is a futuristic thriller game delving into transhumanism. The game explores themes of separation, disjuncture, and reunification, in a world that is torn between a dystopian material reality and a utopian virtual future. The game is developed and published by Deadalic.

State of Mind is extremely cinematic, from its sweeping cutscenes, to how the story’s drama unfolds. Although the gameplay does not have much to offer, it is practically impossible not to love this dynamic adventure of Daedalic Entertainment thanks to its own style, State of Mind is able to tell a story that is worth living.

The game itself uses a style of 3D animation not often used, so its most definitely a work of art. The game’s storyline unfolds base on the choices you make and will determine your ultimate outcome.

I’ve already played through the game, changing my decisions at the end to see alternate outcomes. Because the story and outcomes change based on the choices you make, this game has a high replay value. I enjoyed the game and I loved the story, I don’t wanna give too much away that would spoil your experience. It’s definitely a game worth checking out. I finished it in about 12 hours stretched out over 4 days.

State of mind is currently available on PC, XBOX ONE, PS4 & SWITCH.
