With upcoming films like Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. Marvel fans look ahead to see what Marvel Studios could be brewing up next year.
To our disappointment, there aren’t any MCU films being filmed right now according to ComicBook.com. Black Widow was supposed to start filming at the end of February. However, the Scarlet Johansson film was delayed and is expected to start filming sometime in April.
It could possibly take a whole year to film, and with post-production times we may not see the film until 2021.
In a post on Twitter, Robert Liefeld made a very interesting observation about the current state of Marvel movies.
Once Spider-Man Far From Home hits theaters, their won’t be another Marvel film in theaters for a year.
Just to be clear when we say MCU films we are talking about just the movies Marvel Studios makes. Since Spider-Man is still a Sony project with a partnership with Marvel and Disney its not included. The MCU doesn’t have a scheduled release day until May 1st, 2020, however that may change.
With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 on hold, Black Widow filming delayed and production for “The Eternals” film not started, we may not see any films in 2020 from Marvel Studios.
“Everything after Avengers: Endgame, and after Spider-Man Far From Home, will be different and be unique, as we try to make every film. Seeing characters returning is certainly something we’re gonna do and want to do. But also introducing characters that the majority of the world has never heard off. Much like Guardians of the Galaxy, much like Avengers before we made Avengers. There are lots of them.” Feige told Collider during the Captain Marvel press tour.
This would be a great time for the Studio to regroup and see what new things they can bring to audiences. With Disney’s acquisition of Fox and their Marvel characters like X-Men becoming available. It would be the perfect time to integrate those characters into the MCU and give time for a fresh start moving forward in the widely popular franchise.
How do you feel about this? Could you use a break from Marvel films for a whole year? Tell us your thoughts.
